Alicante is a city located on the southeastern coast of Spain in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the east, the cities of Elche to the northwest and Torrevieja to the south. The city is home to many cultural landmarks like the Santa Barbara Castle, the Explanada de España, San Nicolas Co-Cathedral and the Archaeological Museum of Alicante. It has a population of approximately 330,000 people and its main industries are tourism and service. The city is easily accessible through Alicante-Elche Airport and the Mediterranean motorway (AP-7).
